HO-3 Insurance Policy

The most common type of homeowner's insurance policy sold in the United States, the HO-3 is specifically designed to cover all aspects of the home in question including both the structure of the home as well as its contents. The policy is also designed to address issues of liability that may come up during the normal course of daily living in the home or as a consequence of the presence of visitors on the property. (This policy is also commonly referred to as an "all risk" policy or an "open perils" policy.)

Those aspects of the home and property that are to be covered under the provisions of the insurance policy must be clearly spelled out in the terms of the policy as well as the limits of the included liability protection.

The second most common policy issued in the United States is the HO-4 which is renters insurance or renter's coverage.
