Allstate Cuts Insurance on East Coast

Three more eastern states have been cut from the Allstate Corporation coverage area for new home insurance policies. These states include Delaware, New Jersey and Connecticut. Allstate Corporation is an Illinois based insurance company who just announced months earlier that they would no longer be writing new home insurance policies in several New York counties on the eastern coast.

However, there is good news since this change in Allstate Corporation's home insurance coverage does not affect those with current policies. Allstate Corporation simply will not be writing any new policies although they will continue to cover their current policy holders in the areas. All three of the eastern states will continue to have new auto insurance policies by Allstate Corporation.

The reason behind the Allstate Corporation's decision to cut these states stems from is effort to limit the amount of exposure it has with states on the eastern coast that are at high risk of hurricanes. The Allstate Corporation already insurers a number of individuals with home insurance in New York and Florida which were the first two states where the Allstate Corporation began to cut back the number of new home insurance policies they issue each year. It is likely the company will continue to cut the number of new policies it issues in all hurricane prone eastern states.
