Dwelling Insurance Policy

A dwelling insurance policy provides coverage for the dwelling structure and appurtenant structures on the premises of a dwelling. It covers the personal contents and other household items in a dwelling.

It also at times, covers additional living expenses because of the damage caused to the dwelling or its contents. This policy also pays out for loss of rental value of the dwelling or its contents.

Many people often confuse a homeowner policy and dwelling insurance policy. Home owner policy is a comprehensive package which also covers the dwelling structure but also other strictures such as land , personal items in the dwelling and third party liability ( incase loss is incurred to a third party who visit the dwelling or the surrounding land. the dwelling policy covers only the dwelling structure .
